Do Not Fear Demons!
or those of you who want to learn how to war directly against demonic spirits, whether they be attacking you direct or someone else you are going to want to help out, the very first thing you are going to need to get a strong grip on is what I call the fright factor.
The first thing demons will try and do with you once you attempt to come directly against them in the name of Jesus is to try and literally scare the pants right off you. And unless you know who you really are in your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they may just be able to scare you away from being able to cast them off either yourself or someone else you are attempting to deliver from their evil grip.
Over the years, I would say at least 75% of all the Christians I have met would simply be too afraid to directly engage with any demons if they ever came across them in this life.
Even though they already knew they had the power of the Holy Spirit on the inside of them to be able to directly engage and totally defeat any demons who would come against them, they said just the fear alone of having to deal with that kind of pure evil would simply be too much for many of them, and they would prefer to let someone else do this kind of work for the Lord.
As a result, the Body of Christ has a major shortage of Christians who really know how to deliver someone from demons. Over and over again, we keep receiving emails from people all over the world who are looking for help in this area, and they literally cannot find one single person close to where they live at, including many of the local churches they are still attending.
And I have to believe that one of the main reasons they cannot find anyone in their areas is because too many Christians are simply too afraid to do this kind of work for the Lord, even though Jesus Himself has told us in the Great Commission command that He wanted all of us to cast out demons when it will be needed.
To those of you who are too afraid to directly engage with any demons, let me use this article to give you 17 very profound and powerful verses from our Bible that will show you that you literally, and I mean literally, have nothing to fear if you ever had to directly engage with any demons in this life.
Even though you already know about some of the other verses in the Bible about having no fear in your walk with the Lord, what you need to know in this realm so you do not let major fear overtake you and paralyze you is exactly why you should have no fear of any demon. And this is exactly what these verses are going to give you – exactly why you should have no fear of any demon, no matter how big, nasty, and evil he may be.
The Bible says the truth will set you free – but you first have to know exactly what that truth is and fully understand that truth it before it will be able to set you completely free. And these 17 very special verses will be giving you this major divine truth direct from the Lord Himself so His truth can set you free from any major fears you may have on engaging with any demons in this life.
Again, we do not want to try and place any major guilt trips on anyone for not wanting to do this kind of work for the Lord, but we have seen first-hand what demons can do to people once they launch a full-scale attack against them. In the Testimonies Section of our site, we have several bone-chilling accounts of demons trying to get 4 people to take their own lives.
Two cases in particular are “Suicide Attack#2″ and “Suicide Attack on a 6 Year Old Girl.”
In both of these cases, demons were trying to get a 6 year old girl and a young teenage girl to take their own lives. And had their own mothers not stepped into the gap and directly engaged with these demons, they might have been able to get one or both of these girls to actually take their own lives, as the pressure they were applying on both of these girls was very severe.
In the testimony titled, “Suicide Attack #2,” the mother told me she was scared to death of having to deal direct with any demons. But when her daughter came up to her one day and told her she was hearing voices inside of her head telling her to kill herself, and then she goes the next step and literally starts cutting on herself with a knife, her mother knew she had no other alternative but to directly engage with these demons, since the girl’s natural father was no longer around to do this.
In both of these cases, the demons were driven off both these girls very quickly and very easily on the very first attempt by both mothers. That is how much power and authority we have in Jesus, and that is why we should never be afraid to directly engage with these demons when they do move in for an attack on someone.
With the 4 suicide attack testimonies we have just in our site alone, I have to seriously wonder – how many Christians are being taken home way too early in this life, all because they either did not know how to directly engage with the demons who were attacking them, or they were just simply too afraid to do it in the first place.
The Bible tells us that before the devil will flee from us, that we have to “resist” him. Resisting the devil means you stand and hold your ground, and directly fight and engage with him. You do not sit there and let him beat you down.
The apostle Paul himself could not have said it any better when he told us that we do not “wrestle” against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, which are demons and demon powers. And again, notice the key word he is using in this verse – that we have to “wrestle” against these demons, which once again means we have to fight and directly engage with them once they start to come after us.
Once again, here are these two, key, powerful verses so you can see very clearly what the Lord wants all of us to do when having to face any demons in this life.
- “Therefore submit to God. RESIST THE DEVIL and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
- “For we do not WRESTLE against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
If Jesus is giving us His divine power and authority to cast out demons, then you know this is something we should not be afraid to do for Him when it will need to be done.
The Scripture Verses
For those of you who are battling any kind of major fear on dealing with demons, let me give you these 17 very special verses that will fully explain for you why you should not have any major fear of demons. If and when you ever have to directly engage with any demons, pull these verses out and really study and meditate on them.
Get the knowledge and revelation they are giving you worked into your mind and belief system with the Lord, so you will have no doubt that you are already dealing with a defeated foe. Demons will have absolutely no power against you if you know who you really are in Jesus, and are not afraid to use the power and authority that He has already given to you.
I will go ahead and run all of these powerful verses together, and then I will point out to you exactly what the Lord is trying to show you. Even though many of these verses are in some of our other articles, I wanted to put all of them together just for this type of article since so many Christians have a major fear of dealing with demons.
Key in on the first 5 verses, as they completely set the stage for all of us in the area of spiritual warfare with demonic spirits. These first 5 verses are the most important of all, as they will show you that Satan and all of his demons are now defeated foes before the Lord. And if all demons are already defeated foes before the Lord, then we should have absolutely no fear in directly engaging with them.
- “… that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14)
- “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8)
- “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15)
- “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13)
- “Therefore God has also highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11)
- “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
- “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
- And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe. In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)
- “But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:6-8)
- “And He called the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits … And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them.” (Mark 6:7,13)
- “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” (Matthew 10:1)
- “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1)
- “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6)
- “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
- “For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit …” (1 Thessalonians 1:5)
- “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” (1 Corinthians 4:20)
- “… in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God …” (Romans 15:19)
The revelation these verses are giving us is what I call major one plus one equals two type revelation. Here are the 3 key pieces of revelation the Lord is trying to convey to us in these 17 powerful verses.
1. The first 5 verses simply say it all. These first 5 verses are the ones you are going to have to have underneath your belt if you are going to attempt to engage with any demons in this life. If you do not have a full understanding of these first 5 verses, then major fear and panic could literally overtake you if you try and take these demons head on without first realizing that Jesus has already defeated all of these demons with His sacrificial death on the cross.
If you do not see and realize that you are dealing with an already defeated foe, then major fear and anxiety could overwhelm you right in the middle of an actual battle with these demons, and you may then be forced to retreat and back down, all because you did not know what you already had with Jesus.
Many of these demons are very intelligent, and they will test you and call your bluff to see if you really know who you are in Christ. If you do not know what you already have available to you, these demons could then play you and drive you right out of the battle.
The very first verse says it all when it tells us that Jesus literally destroyed all the power that the devil has over people with His death on the cross. The 2nd verse says that Jesus literally destroyed the works of the devil. Key on the word “destroy.”
When the Bible says that Jesus Christ literally destroyed the works of the devil, this is the most intense and extreme word the Bible can use to tell us exactly what had occurred right after Jesus had died on the cross.
When Jesus destroyed the works of the devil, you know it means total and complete destruction and annihilation of Satan and all the supernatural works he is capable of throwing at us. That is why demons are no match for any born-again believer who knows who they are in Christ, and who knows how to wield the Word of God as their Sword. That is why Satan and his demons will flee from you once you start to directly engage with them under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The third verse adds more to this when it tells us that Jesus totally “disarmed” principalities and powers, which again are referring to demons and their powers. The word “disarmed” is another very powerful word being used by the Lord to show us what had occurred when He died on the cross for all of us. When God uses the word “disarmed,” we are again talking complete and total disarmament of all the supernatural works and powers these demons are capable of throwing at us.
The 4th verse ends it very nicely when it tells us that we have flat out been totally delivered from the powers of darkness.
As a result of Jesus’ death on the cross, we all get to receive the Holy Spirit on the inside of us once we accept Him as our personal Lord and Savior. And once we receive the Holy Spirit on the inside of us, we will now have His supernatural power available to us to defeat any and all demons who will try and come against us in this life, as demons are cast out of people by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
As such, no Christian should ever let any demons keep attacking and beating up on them since we already have the Holy Spirit and His divine power on the inside of us to totally defeat and drive out any demons who may come against us.
The 5th verse will now be the icing on the cake. This verse is telling us that every single knee shall bow before Jesus Christ – and this literally includes every single person on the earth and every single demon below the earth. This now makes Satan and all of his demons totally defeated foes before the Lord, and they now have absolutely no power against Jesus and every single born-again believer who has been saved through His name and His blood.
Burn these first 5 verses in your memory banks so you do not let major fear ever get the better of you in any encounter you may have with a demonic spirit. Again, I cannot emphasize enough the power that is on these first 5 verses and the revelation the Lord is trying to transmit to all of us.
Bottom line – Satan has already been TOTALLY DEFEATED and TOTALLY DISARMED by Jesus when He died on the cross for all of our sins. Satan and his demons are thus already defeated foes, and they are absolutely no match against any Christian who knows how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and who knows how to wield the Word of God as his Sword.
2. Verses 6 and 7 are the next two major power verses you will need underneath your belt to be able to successfully engage with demons. The first one is the one I have already mentioned at the top of this article. This verse tells us that if we submit to God, then the devil will actually flee from us if we resist him.
The 2nd verse then adds some more meat to this revelation when it tells us that the Lord has given us His direct authority and power to trample over serpents and scorpions. And demons are definitely serpents and scorpions. As such, we already have God’s power available to us to be able to totally defeat these demons when we do run across them in this life.
Notice Jesus also says in this verse that we will have His power and authority to trample over “all” the power of the enemy, and that “nothing” shall be able to hurt us. The words “all” and “nothing” are maximum intense type words being used by the Lord. As such, we should not be afraid to step into God’s divine power and use it when we will need it against these demons.
3. The last set of verses from 8-17 are all telling us one major thing – and that one major thing is that we all have the power of the Holy Spirit operating on the inside of us to be able to work for the Lord in this lifetime. And one of the works the Lord would like us to do from time to time is to directly engage and cast demons out of whatever situation we may find them involved in.
Remember – demons are cast out of someone by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Conclusion
Again, if there are any of you being forced to engage with any kind of demons, and you are dealing with major fear on doing it, really study and meditate on the above 17 verses. These words are all coming direct from the Lord Himself, and you can totally count on this type of revelation being pure, 100%, solid truth since all of the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of our Holy God.
These 17 special verses are the absolute, bottom-line, basic truth on this entire subject matter, and this divine truth should help set you free from any major fears you may be having on engaging with demons.
Bottom line:
- If Jesus is telling us that He has already defeated Satan and all of his dark supernatural powers with His death on the cross.
- And then He tells us that we will have His divine power and authority to trample over and defeat this type of enemy.
- And then He ends up telling us to actually go out and cast demons out of people – then we should have absolutely no fear in doing this kind of work for the Lord since He is directly commissioning us to do it for Him, along with anointing us with His divine supernatural power to be able to get the job done.
- This is why we as Christians should have no fear of any demons – and should have no fear of doing this type of work for the Lord.

This is great news I live in Phoenix and have found 2 deliverance people Pastor Middleton wwww.doersoftheword.com and Michael Smith http://www.hardcorechristianty.com both are very good. I am a Christian and have casted out demons in the name of Jesus Christ one deliverance took 2 1/2 hours because so much kept coming up. I wasn’t scare nor tired however she was since she kept coughing up phym and yawning, she did manifest but each time I took control and said you will not manifest and she and I worked together in casting out. I wish I had learned this years ago it’s wonderful to see someone set free however they must be reborn again to keep their freedom and they need to be educated that the empty space (a house swept clean) must be filled with God’s word. So there is more than telling demons to go. Remember Luke 10:17-20 thank you Jesus!

Hello as i and my sister have been victims of Satanic Ritual Abuse for the whole of our lives,i am very familiar with Demons not just in our spirits but actually materializing in our homes sitting on the sofa and blowing cigarette smoke in my face and whilst im lying in my bed at night and many other horrific encounters as well ! As our family had dedicated us to Satan at four years old by a satanic ritual where they had us spiritually lobotomized which literally murdered us alive ,leaving us as two hollow empty shells on the earth ,and then striped us of our true earthly identity by giving us the identity of another set of twins that were dead!!This was done by the power of hypnosis and mind control .They continued to use all the magical arts against our lives to this very ,as they never wanted us to discover who we really are or to testify to their multitude of crimes ,so they were cursing our lives on a daily basis !! we have had allot of prayer and ministry and been delivered of all the demonic stronghold ,but we are sill not completely free as by the act of the lobotomy we cannot get to any of the repressed emotions and we are desperate for vindication and restoration ! we have been up against a very powerful masonic lodge who made sure that our childrens sexual abuse was covered up as well and they had plenty of demonic visitations too !!
It is tru, people fear confronting the spirits because of not knowing what is in their store when they have accepted the Lord.
They need to uderstand that whoever is in them is greater than whoever they are set to confront and always the fights are not ours/theirs but they are for the Lord who has proved He has won

Yes I do believe that churches need to incorporate warfare teachings into their ministry. I mean how can christians fight in a war they dont even know they are in. Demons are very real. But I promise they are counting on your ignorance to keep operating uninterrupted. My people parish from lack of knowledge. How can you fight an enemy you are ignorant of? I believe we are entering into an age were there is an explosion of revelation concerning the reality of demons! Spiritual warfare is coming to front stage. In this case ignorance is NOT BLISS! Ignorance is dangerous! We can not cut the parts out of the Bible that we dont like. But the enemy does operate best in darkness.Its just sad that as long as the Word has been written for us, people still look at you as if you were crazy if you so much as mention the word demon or devil! How do ministers get around that subject in the bible?
Oh yes, totally….amazing how they devil has worked through giving my (christian) Dad and church minister each a dream (and two to Dad) that scared the wits out of both of them, that I am in grave danger regarding me getting together with this guy. God has spoken (through healing miracles, visions, a dream, direct multiple messages from the Word) in endless ways to me and him about all that God has planned for us and for us to do. I am growing closer to God the longer I am with him…and he is falling more and more in love with God because he can see that God wasn’t pulling him leg with this whole set up. The devil is scared of us…and yes, i can see how true it is that the devil tried to put a stop to it by scaring the pants right off me that I walked away from him for 5 weeks…yet God didn’t give up..he made a way.

So appreciative of the wealth of much needed knowledge and inspiration which you clearly bring to the body of Christ. It is a tragedy that so many churches would shy away from this vitally important area of providing lasting freedom deliverance from evil spirits to those who seek it. I can testify to this sad fact that most if not all churches are either ignorant or afraid of the demonic realm and so prefer to refer people seeking help on to some one else.
I wonder – could this avoidance factor be just as the famous author CS Lewis once put it – A case of swinging between two extremes from “An unhealthy obsession with the demonic realm to total disbelief in the demonic realm?
Either case is not ideal and it would seem that in these last days as the signs of the return of our Lord and Saviour becomes increasingly evident – the church needs to break out of its state of slumber (Church of Laodicea – Book of revelations) and take its rightful place in the grand scheme of things – Kingdom Mandate and begin to exercise the Lord’s delegated authority as depicted in the book of Acts.
I earnestly and literally pine for the day when the church will stop being luke-ward and will arise and begin to do those things which Jesus testified to that we would do greater things than He did – minister to a lost and dying world – heal the sick, raise the dead, bind up the broken hearted, cast out devils as well as preach the gospel!

I agree! Yes I too so long for the book of Acts to be raised in these days! I wonder if God isn’t going to raise groups of believers not so much “churches” to reveal His strenghtand that a polarized division will manifest within the church and the lukewarm will turn hot or fade away. And spiritual warfare will be more pronounced and be at the forfront and God’s power and demonic forces will be become undeniable. God’s people will rise and God will manifest His powers even more within His churches and people and in greater numbers! WOW PRAISE THE LORD! I pray that the Lord continues to keep us and the world will see (in our life time) a revival of Acts! AMEN!

I thank God for obedience, and the Great teachers that He is raising up in this hour. I have been seeking not only Gods face but also Jesus’s because of all that I’ve been through in my life and recently dealing with church hurt. Tonya hit it right on the nail, the congregation need to teach the body the Church how to deal with spiritual warfare but they are not. It’s like a game of control,you have to pay for power and knowledge. No one is to get anymore attention then the leaders of the house, you are to listen and obey their rules and their rules only. They use the word and bend it to fit whatever situation they are dealing with at that moment, and then slap you with you must honor and respect your leaders. People need to wake up and understand that there are many of us who see prior to coming to Christ and we don’t speak out about it because of fear of what people may think about us, or say because of the cruelty of man, when in reality a few of them already know what Gods plans and purpose are for us before we do, and have been placed in our lives to take us out or to keep us from making it to the destination that God has purposed and planed for us. Moses was raised up in the enemy camp before having to go up against the enemy. Moses was made to feel like a weakling but yet God choose Him to lead His people out of Egypt. Even though he was chosen by God he was questioned and doubted by his own people, same thing happens in the church. People can’t understand how people can just come in off the streets and be so anointed or chosen and know more than them, so many have been sheltered from the outside. Instead of welcoming the new comers they are pushing right back out the door. They don’t want us to be hip to the game but yes the demons are inside Gods house playing church and or the leaders don’t realize that they are under the influence of witchcraft themselves. People are tired of hurting, they are tired of sitting back and watching the Lord be prostituted, everything you want to know you have to pay for, special healings, a special word, special blessing, financial releases, everything costs including walking in your gift.
The Lord actually started showing me my gifts when I had went into a shelter that I was placed in. It was inside of a church, and God used me as a vessel to pray for the women that were in there. Mind you this was at the beginning of my walk I had no idea what I was in for, but I knew the plan wasn’t just for me to be there to get help but to find out who I was in Christ and to help others and I said yes to his will. I actually had to pray over someone who was a cutter to retrieve the knife from her, I prayed over a young lady who was ill with a fever and God had me to open my eyes and beads of sweat rolled off her face as I prayed and the squeals that came from both of them. I had no idea what was going on but I did what God led me to do. The young lady never attempted to cut herself again and the woman with the fever said that her fever had broken and she was fine. The power of Jesus is real, mind you I do not know my word and struggle with it but God and the name of Jesus is feared. No one in this church ever came down to offer any kind of spiritual healing or comfort for these woman, some were barely holding. On this past Saturday I was out and a homeless woman was laying on a bench and she was making these shrieking sounds, I wanted so much to reach out and lay hands but I didn’t feel driven to do so, and the Lord put in my spirit the stories about the demon spirits that were active back in Jesus day, my conscience bothered me because I didn’t help this woman. I can go on and on with stories, but this is my desire, what do we do and where can we go to seek the the proper training? My life is constantly being attacked because of what I see and because I share the word with others! Novena I feel your heart on this. And I’m sure the Lord is using you and has used you. It is hard to deal with church people at times, even Jesus had to in His day. But I am trusting the Lord that when HE opens doors, HE opens doors NO man can shut!!!! I go to church with alot of people some seem real others seem well not so real and not even loving and some down right hateful. But I know God loves them too, and I continue to go in obedience to God’s word: Do not forsake fellowship and gathering together. Really it is hard, I’ve been hurt too but I just keep thinking I’m not going to let those people keep me from obedience to my Father. He honors our obedience. Obedience is the highest form of worship. So hang in there and remember God will open doors for you Novena that NO man can close!!!!!
And that is GOOD NEWS!!!! I just forgive and forgive, I won’t let the enemy isolate me and torment me!!! I agree about how they think they are soo high because they have school and experience and they think others not like them are not annointed only them, but that is exactly the way the religious men of Jesus’s day treated Him. They said who do you think you are!!!????? Oh if they ONLY knew who they were talking to!!! But when they did nail him to the cross and he was hanging on it and they spit at him and mocked him!!! He asked God to forgive them for they know not what they do. It doesnt matter if religious men approve of us or not, it only matters what our Father thinks. If the religious men don’t recognize or acknowledge our annointings it does not in any way cancel them. See PRIDE comes before a fall. Alot of religious people are prideful. I just pray for them and I also ask God to help me not to fall into that trap. Also it’s not those people you are dealing with its demonic personalities. The battle is not flesh and blood, it’s spiritual. I also try to remember that, it makes forgiveness come much easier. When Jesus was on the cross he knew what was in those people who were spitting and cursing and mocking him. He knew it was not flesh and blood! But demons using them! Seriously!!!! The religious men didn’t know who he was but the demons they did. They had know idea he would rise again three days later and take back the keys to the kingdom and give them back to God’s children!!!! That’s Good News!! We have the keys, we have authority to tread upon serpents and nothing shall by any means hurt us!!!!!!
Also: I have to say to children of God- You don’t need to go to seminary to be annointed and do the work of the Lord. In the word it says if you believe and are a follower of Jesus these signs will follow you: You will lay hands on the sick and they shall be HEALED you will cast out demons in my name! Okay so guess what that means- Every believer can and is commissioned to do spiritual warfare! It is not for a chosen few! It is for every born again believing christian. Soooo many well meaning christians are walking around with an arsenal of power they don’t even know about. And they are not using. They are putting up with the enemy beating them up and bulling them. All you have to do is Believe, that is what qualifies us!!!!! Also the word says study to show yourself approved! That means we got to get into the word of God and study it. Again spiritual warfare was intended for every christian NOT just a chosen few. Don’t ever let someone tell you you can’t do it because you are not a specialist. You don’t have to be. Just think if all christians or at least 50% were to engage in spiritual warfare how much of an advantage we as a body would gain over our enemies. Just remember there are more for us then are against us and if God be for us who can be against US!!!!!!!!!
Here are the scriptures to back up what I just said: Luke 10:19, Psalms 91:13, 2 King 6:16, Romans 8:29-39 Mark 16:15-18 And these signs will accompany those who believe; In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tounges; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. It didn’t say they had to have degrees it said those who believe! My people parish for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 Also study to show thyself approved…. 2 Timothy 2:15.

I have a question for the author. I have read and heard many pastors refer to the Bible as “the Word of God”….and also refer to Jesus as “the Word.” I find this confusing, since the Bible is not the Savior…and the Savior is not the Bible.
Jesus said, `They will cast out devils IN MY NAME’….yet you write that `demons are cast out of people by the Word of God and the Power of the Holy Spirit.’
By `Word of God’ (in this article), do you mean…by quoting Bible verses to the demons? Or do you mean cast out “in the name of Jesus” ~ ? I apreciate your clarification.
And I am assuming that when you state `…who knows how to wield the Word of God as his sword’….that you mean Bible verses. Is that what you mean in this sentence?

I have no desire to invalidate anything in this article. I DO understand the essential point the author is making…to encourage folks to participate in spiritual warfare, such as self-deliverance. If a person ASKS FOR help with deliverance, they probably aren’t too much of a danger to the one assisting (tho’ it’s a good idea to have a partner there, just in case the deliver-ee goes out of control).
However, outside of those 2 scenarios….let’s get realistic. “Homeless” demons floating around in the air cannot pick up a gun and shoot a person dead. But….INSIDE a person who is holding a gun (like many people at home and like ALL cops), if that person has evil spirits of killing and murder in him/her, those spirits/demons will send “SHOOT! KILL!” thots into their human’s mind.

I don’t want to be around in that scenario. I’m afraid of a gun in someone’s hand. My former husband (now deceased) “lost it” many years ago when I tried to discuss a subjecet he found very threatening to him. He ran in the bedroom and came out with his loaded handgun! It’s only by the Grace of God that I’m alive to write about it!

I think this site is wonderful. My spiritual education has been great but fustrating. Left half finished and when I went seeking I asked God to guide me and he has. Which angered some church folks. I was really shocked by this for even when I proved I was of Gods children only anger appeared. I was denied being baptizted. Spiritual warfare must be taught.
WE all face terrible things in this life and if we dont know how to represent God in the best way possible. How can the Body survive?

First, I want to say thank you for creating this site.
I too have been through many things, but the thing that I want to say is Praise God. You see in the past 50 some odd days, I have been back and forth and whenever I got on the right path, the evil ones constantly hurt my mind. I was going through some serious mental craziness. Like 1-10 minutes of praying and resting in the Lord. Then going to work on my computer and about 2-5 minutes of doubt, fear, worry, (im living in the world thoughts came up). I was trying like crazy to figure it out and praying and then wanting things in this world but not for selfish reasons but to take care of my issues in life. Well this went on for about 40 days, but after 2-3 weeks of mental exhaustions and no results, I got really mad at God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost and thought they would not deliver. I said some really dumb things, and then I thought I wasn’t saved and I went on for 5 days in complete despair and why should I live, why should I not watch porn, go out and get wasted, not call up random women. Well, after 3.5 days of crying and not understanding. Something came over me to contact a church and email them what I had been through and how I think I blasphemed the Holy Spirit. I mean I was totally in remorse, and didn’t care about anything. Well, I emailed the church and then google another sermon that I regularly listened to. It was coming up on Easter I think, can’t remember, my mind has been through so much crazy warfare, I can’t even understand why I am still alive even now.
But after I googled some of the sermons, I found the verse about how I did not do that and that I can refer to Romans 8. And then it was amazing and mind you, I had been praying and hoping and believing that Jesus paid my sins. Well, after I was in a good state of knowing I was still saved, the email I had sent about 1 day ago, came in and guess what? The EXACT SAME VERSE AND CHAPTER AND WORDS, came from that church. I was in complete belief and respect, and sorrow, and assurance that I was still saved. Even today, I THANK ALMIGHTY GOD AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY GHOST THAT I AM SAVED STILL.
And now earlier today, the evil one said that you are not saved and you are going to hell, but then I called it out and asked God. God told me that you are saved, and remember what Jesus said during his earthly lifetime while he was there in the Bible. And that you when you said those things, you did not witness any super natural or God like act during your prayer and while you were calling us out. Yeah, I called them out and feel completely stupid and foolish. And the Lord said, that you are saved and keep in my Word.
And now since I have read these verses above, I am really thankful and want to do what is right, not just because I feel bad but I know that my life is worth something and I want to make something of it that the Lord intended me to live it. I am still wondering exactly what it is, but I am going to keep on seeking, praying and working to determine what it is that He wants me to do.
If you read this, please pray for me, the name of this vessel is known or referred as, Jordan Please pray that I will become the man that God wants me to be, and to have the power that He wants me to have so that i may help others and lead them to Jesus. Also, I think it would be great to heal others as well so they can see that Jesus Christ is real and true so they may repent and for others who witness, to come to Christ.
Jordan, I will pray for you. Also just remember Satan is a liar! So if he is telling you you have committed the unforgivable sin and that you are not saved- that means you have not committed the unforgivable sin and that you are saved. Also he is just hoping that he can get you to give up and walk away from God. No don’t believe the little lies demons whisper to you! Just keep on praying and seeking God. Stay in His word. There is an invisible war going on a battle for your soul. Do not give in to Satan Resist him and he will flee!!! You are on the right track. Just whatever command you give the enemy always say at the end In Jesus Name! “Leave me now every spirit that is not of God” in the name of Jesus! Also you cannot just rely on your own will power to break free from porn or other sins. Once a stronghold has formed you need that stronghold broken. You really need to find someone around you to lead you through deliverance. It will help you so much. In the mean time start thanking God for your complete deliverance from every stronghold of the enemy. Thank God that you are delivered from porn. Thank God every day! God’s word says that if we lack wisdom we just have to ask and He will give us.
