Prayer Secret #6 – Prayer Of Agreement

This next prayer secret is another real powerful one to add to your arsenal of the different types of prayer strategies that you can take with the Lord. This is another one that is coming direct from Jesus Christ Himself.

This next prayer secret is telling us that if two or three believers can come together in agreement in their prayer to the Lord, that God the Father will move to answer the prayer.

Prayer Of Agreement

Here is the verse where this powerful piece of revelation is being given to us by the Lord:

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19)

Notice several things:

1.  The reason that this type of prayer is called the prayer of agreement is due to the specific wording being used by the Lord. Notice in the very first sentence it says that if two people can “AGREE on earth concerning anything that they ask.”

In other words, two people have to be in perfect agreement with one another on the specific prayer request they are wanting to put before the Lord. This means that two people are now approaching the throne of God and they are praying for the exact same thing.

2.  The second thing to pick up from this verse is the very last sentence where Jesus says that He will personally be in the midst of two or three believers who are coming together in His name to pray about a particular matter.

If Jesus Himself will actually be in the midst of two or three believers who are praying in agreement and in unison with one another to God the Father, then this means Jesus is hearing their prayer loud and clear. And if Jesus is hearing their prayer loud and clear, then those two or three believers will have a very good chance on getting their prayer answered by God the Father.

What I believe God and Jesus are trying to tell us with the specific wording in this verse is that there is extreme power in united group prayer – where a group of believers all join together in unison, in harmony, and in agreement with one another on what they are going to pray about before the Lord.

If God can be moved to want to answer an individual believer’s prayer if that individual believer is approaching Him with a lot of intensity, passion, and sincerity – can you imagine how much more God may be able to be moved if a group of sincere, passionate, and intense believers all approach Him with the exact same prayer request all at the same time?

This is not to say that one-on-one, individual prayer to the Lord is not powerful and effective. I personally believe that God wants you coming to Him most of the time on a one-on-one basis in your own personal prayer life to Him.

As I have stated numerous times in many of our other articles, God wants more than anything else that you seek to establish a one-on-one, intimate, close, personal relationship with Him.

And in that personal, one-on-one relationship with Him will be the benefit and blessing to be able to pray directly to Him and present any special prayer requests you may have.

However, there will be other times that He will want you to group together and unite with a few other believers in your specific prayer requests to Him.

Again, this is another piece of revelation that is like looking at a two sided coin. On the one side of the coin is where you just pray direct to God all on your own.

You won’t need to pray with anyone else or ask anyone else to pray for you or with you. However, on the other side of the coin is where you will want to join together from time to time with other believers and approach the throne of God with the same prayer request.

And how do you know when to take which approach with God the Father? For those of you who have established a good inside connection with the Holy Spirit, many of the times you will be able to pick it up directly from Him which approach you should be taking with God the Father on a particular prayer request you may have.

You simply tap in, and you should be able feel or sense in your spirit as to which way to go with God on a particular issue.

For those of you who have not got that far with the Holy Spirit where you can pick up those kinds of reads from Him, what you will then have to do is analyze your prayer request. Many of the times, just plain, good, common sense will tell you which approach will be best suited for the specific prayer request you would like to put before the Lord.

Recommendations

Here is what I have personally found out on this particular prayer secret in my own personal walk with the Lord.

1.  Due to the extreme power that is on this particular prayer secret, I believe that you really have to be guided by the Holy Spirit as to when to use this particular secret and when not to use it.

Our God is a very jealous and possessive God. Due to the very extreme, passionate, jealous, and all-consuming type of fire love that He has for each and everyone of us on an individual basis, it is my own personal belief that many of the times He wants us approaching Him on a one-on-one basis in our own personal prayer life with Him.

He wants your prayer life to be something very special between you and Him, and He will not want anyone else getting in the middle of it.

This will be your special, secret place between you and God. This is why you will hear some people use the word “prayer closet” to describe that special secret place that they, and only they will have with the Lord.

As a result of this very special and personal space that will be established between you and the Lord, many of the times He will answer your personal prayers if you just simply approach Him all by yourself.

You will not need to call 25 other people to pray with you. If you are asking for God’s help in being able to organize your days better, or asking for His help to handle a minor problem at work, you will not need to call on any other prayer warriors to help you out with minor and smaller matters such as these.

Prayer is serious business with the Lord, and you do not want to be bothering other mighty, prayer warriors with minor and trivial matters that can be handled solely between you and God. Again, you have to use good common sense on deciding when to call in the other troops and when not too.

Many of the everyday problems, issues, and obstacles that you are forced to face can be easily handled between you and the Lord on an one-on-one basis. You will not need to involve anyone else on these kinds of smaller matters and issues.

What I have personally found with either baby, immature, or lazy Christians – is that after they get a hold of the revelation that is in the above verse about how much power there really is in united group prayer, they will then start to try and take advantage of it with God and whoever else they can get to pray with them.

Realizing that God may be able to be moved with united group prayer, they will start searching for other Christians who will be willing to pray with them, and before they know it, they are asking these other Christians to pray for them for every single minor and trivial issue they can think of.

As a result of asking too many Christians to pray with them on issues they should have never asked for any prayer help to begin with, they then start to get lazy and weak in their own personal prayer life with the Lord.

Instead of learning how to storm the throne of God with their own passion and intensity, they start asking and relying on other Christians to do their praying for them, hoping that their efforts will get God to answer their prayer for them rather than they putting in their own prayer efforts to try and get God to answer their prayer. I can tell you from first hand experience that the Lord gets very perturbed when He sees other Christians trying to take advantage of other Christians on the power of united group prayer.

What these people do not realize is that the true seasoned and experienced prayer warriors will know when to join forces with another believer and when not too.

These powerful, prayer warriors are so Spirit-connected and so in tune with the Lord, they will know when to join forces with someone else and when not too. These people will not be easily duped into being pulled into minor and trivial prayer matters that have no business coming their way in the first place.

So not only will you be wasting some of these other prayer warriors’ times in trying to manipulate them for your own personal gain with the Lord, but you will also be angering the Lord Himself with this immature and manipulative behavior – and as a result, you could end up lessening your own chances on getting God to want to answer your prayer.

Many powerful miracles can be brought down from heaven by individual believers who know how to go one-on-one with the Lord in their own personal prayer life with Him. You do not always have to be calling on other Christians every single time you have something to pray about.

2.  However, as great and as powerful as individual prayer is with the Lord, there is also a definite time and place for united group prayer. There will be times that you will want to pull out all of the stops and call on other troops to storm the gates of heaven with you to try and get God to want to answer your prayer in a mighty and powerful way.

Where this united group prayer will really come into play is on the more serious types of issues or problems that could come your way.

If your 6 year old son has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, you will want to do everything you can to try and increase your chances of getting God to heal your son. And one of the ways that you can dramatically increase your chances is to call on other mighty prayer warriors to go in the gap with you, and pray in unison, harmony, and agreement with you before the Lord.

You will literally feel your spirit cry out to want to call on other mighty prayer warriors to storm the throne of God with you in an effort to try and move God to heal your son.

If you get hit with this kind of vicious torpedo shot, you will also want to call your pastor if you belong to a church, and ask him to ask the whole church to pray for your son.

This is where you literally will want to pull out all of the stops with the Lord – and by going to these types of extreme lengths, you will be showing the Lord the extreme desire and intensity you will have to want to get your son healed – and this type of extreme desire and intensity may be the thing that will get God to want to move on you and your son’s behalf.

This is how powerful miracles are sometimes brought down from heaven – by powerful, focused, heavily concentrated, and heavily targeted prayers direct to God the Father, with everyone praying in unison, harmony, and agreement with one another.

When Jesus Himself says in the above verse that He will literally be in the midst of any two or three believers who are praying in unison and agreement with one another – then you know we are talking about a major and powerful, prayer secret with the Lord!

This is why every single Bible-based, Spirit-filled, Christian Church should have intercessory prayer teams who are filled with mighty and powerful prayer warriors who know how to powerfully and effectively pray to God the Father.

These kinds of mighty prayer warriors can pull down major miracles from heaven, and every church should be finding out who these mighty prayer warriors are.

If one of these types of special, intercessory, prayer warriors can pull down major miracles from heaven, can you imagine what a group of them can do together if they all joined forces with one another for one common purpose and one common cause?

Conclusion

I will leave you with one last thought on seeking after other prayer warriors in order to be able to join forces with them from time to time when you have a major mountain to try and overcome.

1.  As I said at the top of this article, there will be many times that you will be able to pull down your own miracles from heaven all by yourself in your own personal prayer life with the Lord.

If you are walking in a good full surrender with the Lord and you have established a good, personal, working relationship with Him, you will be having major successes in your prayer life with Him. Not only will you be pulling down miracles for yourself, but you will also be pulling down miracles for the other people that God will have you pray for from time to time.

2.  However, as great and as powerful as an individual prayer life can be with the Lord, there will always be the other side to this prayer coin – and that other side is that from time to time the Lord will want you to join forces with other believers so you can approach His throne on an united group basis.

As you grow and mature in your walk with the Lord, you will be able to get to the point where you will know when to call in the other troops and when not too. This is something that you will have to learn by trial and error. It will be the job of the Holy Spirit to help guide you on this. Just learn how to become more sensitive to His leadings, His promptings, and His knowings on what to do and how to do it.

3.  Now I will leave you with one little secret. This little secret is for all pastors, and for anyone else in the flock who wants to learn how to become a mighty prayer warrior in their walk with the Lord.

If God is going to want to team you up with other believers from time to time, this means that you will need other good Christian friends who you can call up at a moment’s notice and ask them to pray with you in unison and agreement. Many of you already have some good prayer partners that you can do this with.

But for those of you who do not, simply ask God to lead you to several good Christian friends He would like you to connect with so you can work with them as an united team from time to time.

But here is the secret for those of you who may not be aware of this. God has raised up many people who are specially anointed and gifted in the area of intercessory prayer.

These people are your real mighty prayer warriors. These are the types of people who have dramatic and powerful successes in their prayer life with the Lord. These are the kinds of people that you would want to team up with from time to time if God would want the connection and friendship to be made with any one of them.

As a result of these specially, anointed, prayer warriors being so successful and so powerful in their own personal prayer lives with the Lord, many of these people are not known – not only by most of the flock in the church they may belong to, but they are not even known by their own pastors or the other ministers of their church. God has many of these mighty prayer warriors being held in secret.

The reason God has so many of these mighty prayer warriors being held in secret is that if word ever got out as to who these people were and how powerful and successful they really were in their own prayer lives with the Lord – many people would seek to use and abuse them, including many of the pastors and assistants of their own churches.

God the Father will not have any of these specially, anointed, prayer warriors messed with or tampered with. These people are on holy ground with the Lord due to the very close personal relationships they have established with Him.

You do not get to this kind of success in your prayer life with the Lord unless you have established a very good, close, intimate, personal relationship with Him. God the Father very jealously guards and watches over these people, and woe to anyone who would ever try and mess with any of them for their own personal gain or profit.

To any pastor who truly wants the power of God to come into the prayer life of their church – and to any member of the flock who wants to find a true, powerful, intercessory prayer warrior who they can team up with from time to time – go to God the Father in very sincere prayer and ask Him to show you and lead you as to who some of these anointed prayer warriors are.

If it is in God’s will that you be hooked up with several of these people, then He will show you who some of these people are, and then lead you to be able to be hooked up with them so that you can then develop a good, trustworthy, personal relationship with each one of them. If God should ever allow this to happen to you, you will have been given a very special treasure and a very powerful prayer partner and ally.

If you are the pastor of a church – one, two, or three of these specially, anointed, prayer warriors could cause some major dramatic changes and events to occur in your church due to the favor and power that these people have with God the Father.

I do not think I have to tell you what could happen to your church if these kinds of people were given very specific and very targeted prayer assignments.

These people are like the special forces of our military. These are the types of people that will not only get the job done, but they will get the job done in a very mighty and powerful way.

If God the Father should deem you trustworthy enough to hook up with one or several of these people, you will have been given not only a very special God-friend, but you will also have been given a very powerful prayer partner and ally who could help make the difference as to whether or not you end up pulling down that bigger miracle that you may need somewhere down the road.

I know some of the higher ranking leaders of the Body know who some of these people are, but they have been instructed by God not to tell the rest of the world who they are and where they live. Some of these relationships are kept very personal and very confidential.

Some of these high ranking leaders will actually go to them and call on them from time to time when they really need a major miracle or a major breakthrough in their ministries.

In other words, some of these people have more prayer power with the Lord than some of the highest ranking leaders in the Body will have.

This is why it would be considered a blessing of the highest order if God would ever allow you to not only meet one or two of them, but to actually be able to hook up with some of them from time to time to take on a heavier prayer assignment.

Once again, Jesus has given us a very powerful piece of revelation with what He has told us in the above verse. If you want to become a well-rounded, mighty prayer warrior in your walk with the Lord, make sure that you try and develop both sides of this coin with the Lord.

On the one side will be your own one-on-one, personal, prayer life that you will develop with the Lord. On the other side will be you teaming up with some of the mightiest and best prayer warriors that you can find so that you can be fully ready should God ever call you to approach Him with this prayer of agreement.

This is powerful stuff!

A nice piece. The technicality of words is not what is important as some would want to delve into, but the points driving at. I'm jobless now and needs prayer partners to bombard heaven for immediate solution. God bless all concerned believers.

Please pray for me. I urgently need a job within the next two weeks or I am in great danger of losing my house. I tried everyhing: praying, fasting but there is no answer from God. Please pray for me that the Lord helps me to find a loving and caring prayer partner and a good prayerful church which supports me spiritually and also helps me to get quickly a good job for the glory and honor of his name. Please pray for me that the Lord shows me what is hindering the answer to my prayers and that those things are quickly removed and that the Lord lifts up my spirits and strengthens my faith and provides all the money which I need at the moment and helps me to keep my house.

Matt 18:19 actually has nothing to do with prayer. You are taking verse 19 completely out of the context of the Matt 18:15-20 verses, which is solely about church discipline. Scripture cannot and does not contradict itself. Conversely, I John 5:14 is talking about prayer, and interjects the most important factor of Him hearing our prayers, if it is according to His will, not ours.
