This is by far one of my favorite all time videos. This reminds me of a time in my life where I asked God to help see others through His eyes.
This was definitely a life changing experience for me. I wasn’t so sure what I was going to expect but for a period of time, I would ask the Lord to help see certain people the way He sees them.
Just like this video, you can’t judge people on the outside. One of my pet sayings is… everyone has a story. In other words, everyone has some issue, past or present that may be affecting them and be causing them to act they way they are.
I recall one night while walking in the mall, I didn’t see kids covered in tatoos and piercings as I normally would but as kids suffering in pain, emotionally, physically, mentally that is causing them to act like that. They are not only hurting but probably have experienced very little love in there life.
A random act of kindness can go a long way here.
I recall one person God brought into my life during this time was a complete 180 from me. This person was into the gothic scene and was hurting. To make a long story short, she had lost her fiance and I thought it would be a good idea to send her a card with a cash gift inside. The card was a God card, said He loved her no matter what.
To me, this wasn’t that big of a deal, I consider this something any person, especially a Christian should do but to her, it was something that not only planted a big ole seed, but broke all stereotypes she had of Christians.
She said not one single one of her so-called friends even bothered to do antyhing, let alone send a card. This started a process that eventually led her giving her life to the Lord.
To me, I didn’t consider this that big of a deal, but to her, it was a life changing event.
Never discount the small things and how God can work.
And never judge anyone by their outside appearance or better, just don’t judge anyone because we really don’t know the full story. Now I know there are exceptions that we take to this but I’m not talking about that now.
If you plan on asking God to see others as He sees them just be prepared, it’s not easy. You’ll start to cry for people you don’t even know and people you would have never even thought you would cry for.
And then ask God for boldness and wisdom to do a random act of kindness for them, you just never know what could transpire.
And I will leave you with one last note, if you ever get to the point where you start to feel hardened, yes it can still happen, ask God to help see other’s as He sees them. Nothing will soften your heart like it.
