I wanted to comment on the article about being slain in the spirit. I fully agree with the writer. I believe God has as much power now as he did then. However There are people that have caused alot of christians to doubt God’s power.
I grew up Holiness. I attended lots of revivals in my youth. There were always traveling evangelists at these revivals. They usually traveled in pairs.
Sometimes I would go to the alter for prayer to help with some of my personal issues. Usually, without even listening to what I needed prayer for the evangilist would slap his or her hand across my forehead and began pushing me backwards. At the same time their assistant would place their hand on my lower spine, place their foot behind mine and push forward. This would cause me to loose balance and I would fall. I know that I am not alone in this kind of experience.
So many people have lost faith in the power of God because of this kind of nonsense. Thankfully God showed me his true nature at a time in my life when my faith was really weak. When ever I doubt I can reflect on that experience. I believe God still has the power to do GREAT things but not enough of us believe in this so we havenlt experienced it for ourselves.
If we did, we wouldn’t have to trip people to get them to fall under the Holy spirit.
