What Does The Bible Say About “Life By The Spirit” The Holy Spirit Living IN and THROUGH US! Galatians 5 Verses 16-26

Life By The Spirit

16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.

18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
(But that in no way gives you the license to sin! Because if we are LOVERS OF GOD we do not keep sinning willfully! Yes, we will stumble, but we will not continue to practice the sin of our youth! When we stumble, we go to the Father Repent, and Receive Forgiveness….For as long as we live in fleshly bodies we will sin. As we grow in our understanding of WHO GOD IS and We BEGIN to FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM we want to do right because we love Him….and we want to live a life that is pleasing to Him!)

19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.

LET’S BREAK DOWN THIS VERSE! WE HAVE TO CRUCIFIY OUR SINFUL NATURE BY READING THE WORD, PRAYER, KEEPING OUR EYES FIXED UPON GOD, FASTING, PRAISE&WORSHIP, BEING FILLED EVERYDAY….BEING TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF OUR MINDS…..BEING TRANSFORMED INTO THE LIKENESS OF CHRIST JESUS…

BUT “APART FROM ME, YOU CAN DO NOTHING” JESUS STATES….SO HOW CAN WE DO THIS? BY THE POWER OF GOD….

“IF A PLANT RECEIVES NO WATER….SOON IT WILL WITHER AND DIE…..SO IT IS WITH OUR WALK WITH GOD YOU HAVE TO BE WATERED TO GROW!”

25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

SIMPLY PUT, WE WILL KNOW PEOPLE BY THEIR FRUITS…IF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS LIVING IN AND THROUGH US THEN THE FRUITS WILL SHINE FORTH IN ALL WE DO!
