Facing the Giants DVD

I wanted to let everyone know that our bookstore is offering the Facing the Giants Movie DVD for only $19.99, that’s 20% off regular retail price.  Below is a movie review by my good friend Jim Brubaker of Encore Remoding in Chesterfield, MO.
Looking for some good, clean, non-sexually explicit entertainment for the whole family? Â
Then buy a copy of “Facing the Giants” on DVD. And, while you’re at it, you just might want to invite some unsaved friends to watch it with you!
Â
Based on the title and the artwork on the cover, you’d think this was a movie about football, which means very few ladies would want to watch this, right? Wrong. You don’t even have to understand the game to get the message of this film.
Without ruining the plot and some of the spiritual high points of this movie, the coach of a Christian School is facing some real challenges. His team is losing and isn’t motivated. The bills are piling up at home. His wife is desperate to be a mom and raise a family with no apparent success. There’s an odor in the kitchen that is obnoxious and the source can’t be discovered. The car is falling apart.
Â
Just when it seems that it couldn’t get any worse, a group of parents convene a secret meeting to discuss how to have the coach fired. Sounds like some of the things we all go through, doesn’t it?Â
At the point of complete breakdown, coach gets serious with God and the results are astonishing, heart-warming and faith building. Conceived and produced by a Baptist church in Georgia, this film will touch your heart and emotions in a way few films ever could. Â
Done with a budget of about $100,000, this film is as well done as any of the Hollywood multimillion dollar extravaganzas. And the message is far more uplifting, challenging and faith-building than anything Sin City has produced over the past 2 or 3 decades!
