TBN Testimony #2
Abduction of a Local Weatherman
ere is another testimony I just heard off
of TBN that is definitely worth passing on. This one has a
major lesson for all of us to really grab a hold of.
This one happened several years ago in a
city in South Carolina. One of the local weathermen on one of
the major news channels was on his way back home to his
apartment building at about 1:30 am.
As he got out of his car and started to walk to the front of
his apartment building, he saw two teenagers meandering around
about 50 feet in front of his apartment entrance. He could
actually see them from his car as he got out.
When he first saw them, he started to get
butterflies in his stomach and a very uneasy feeling about
walking past them to get to his apartment. However, he
overruled what he thought were just his emotions that may
have been malfunctioning on him and decided to rely on his
own natural logic and reasoning and continue to walk toward
his apartment.
As he walked past the two teenagers, one of them called out
to him. He turned around to see what they wanted. As he turned
around, one of them had a gun and told him to move toward his
car. As he got to his car, they told him to climb into his own
trunk and give him the keys.
The two teenagers then drove for about 30 minutes to another
location. As they were driving to this location, the weatherman
started to pray to God to protect and deliver him from this
situation that he now found himself caught in. He admitted to
God his total helplessness to do much to get himself out of
this situation and asked for God's direct help in the
matter.
When they got to this other location and he started to climb
out of the trunk, he said he felt an incredible sense of peace
come over him. He felt the sense of peace was definitely coming
from the Lord and that everything was going to be all
right.
When he climbed out of the trunk, he saw a third man
standing by the side of his car with a steel pipe in his hands.
This man asked him for his money. He gave them what he had in
his wallet, but apparently this was not enough to satisfy
them.
He then started to try and reason with them. He told them he
could get them more money if they would drive him to his local
ATM machine. They agreed to do it.
On the way to the ATM machine, one of the teenagers asked
him why he was being so nice to them since they were abducting
and robbing him of his money. He then proceeds to tell the boys
that he was a Christian and preceded to lightly witness to
them.
They drive up to the ATM machine, he takes out $600.00 to
give to them and they then let him go without physically
harming him.
When he got home, he immediately reported the abduction and
robbery to the local police. About a month or two later, they
caught all three of the boys. The police then told this
weatherman that these same boys had been responsible for
abducting and robbing two other men.
The only difference between what had happened to him and the
other two men is that these boys had severely beat up the other
two men that they had robbed leaving them with serious
injuries. For whatever reason, they did not lay a hand on the
weatherman. The police told the weatherman that he was lucky
that they had not beat him up like they had with the other two
victims.
The weatherman knew, without any shadow of a doubt, that it
was God who protected him from suffering any type of physical
harm from these three teenagers. He believed that when he first
got out of his trunk after being abducted and facing the third
individual with the steel pipe in his hands - that he would
have been beat with that pipe had God not run interference and
protected him.
LessonsThere are two major lessons to
be learned from this testimony.
1. Warnings From the Holy Spirit
The first mistake this man made was not heeding and
listening to the warnings that the Holy Spirit was trying to
give to him when he first saw the two teenagers meandering in
front of his apartment building. He said when he first saw them
from his car - that he started to get butterflies and a
very uneasy feeling in his
stomach.
Your human spirit is located in your belly area
- your gut! The Holy Spirit lives in your human spirit.
There thus will be times that the Holy Spirit will
communicate directly to your spirit in your belly area - in
your gut. That is why the man started to get "butterflies"
in his stomach area.
He had no reason to believe that he was going to be
abducted, so the only logical explanation for the butterflies
in his stomach was that it had to be a warning being given to
him by God through the Holy Spirit. Only God can see into the
future - we cannot. God obviously saw what was about to happen
and was trying to warn this man ahead of time.
Since this man obviously did not know about the supernatural
workings of the Holy Spirit and how He operates, he did not
know that this supernatural warning was coming directly from
the Lord. He then used his own natural reasoning and logic to
tell himself there is no logical reason he should be having
this uneasy feeling and that he should simply override it and
walk toward his apartment.
The Bible says that God's people will perish for having lack
of knowledge. Because this man lacked the working knowledge of
how God can supernaturally communicate to him through the Holy
Spirit, he had to end up going through this traumatic
ordeal.
As I have said numerous times in my other articles, the
Bible calls the Holy Spirit our "Helper." The
Holy Spirit will help us out across the board on anything that
we will need His help on in this life. However, we have to
learn how to pick up and read His leadings and movements in
order to be guided by Him.
I don't know how many times I have heard this
same story over and over again in reference to people being
mugged, robbed or raped. They all say they get the
butterflies in their stomach area and a very uneasy feeling
about going around a corner, or about entering into a house
or building, or about walking past a certain individual or
group of men, or entering into a car with a particular
individual.
Those butterflies in the stomach area - that
uneasy feeling that all of sudden overcomes you are
"warning manifestations" coming from the Holy Spirit. He is
telling you to stop where you are at and not to go around
that corner, not to enter that building, not to get into
that car with that particular individual.
Most people, when they initially receive these warning
manifestations in their belly area from the Holy Spirit, shake
them off and tell themselves that their emotions are just
malfunctioning and that there is no logical reason they should
be having them. They look at the corner they are getting ready
to go around and not seeing anything there - they assume it is
perfectly safe - not realizing that God can see around that
corner and what is waiting for them if they round it!
There were numerous testimonies from Christians who got
warning signals - warning manifestations from the Holy Spirit
on the 9/11 attack. One woman in particular I had heard on TBN
said she was getting ready to get back into the elevator to go
back to the floor that got hit by the planes when she received
warnings from the Holy Spirit on the inside that she was not to
get back on that elevator to go back up to her office
building.
This woman was a Spirit-filled Christian who had some working
knowledge of the Holy Spirit and how He can supernaturally
communicate and guide you. Since she was able to recognize the
inside warnings as coming directly from the Holy Spirit - she
immediately warned the other people she was with and was able
to persuade the rest of them not to get back on the elevator to
go back up. They immediately all started to go down the stairs
and all of them were able to safely get out of the building
just in the nick of time.
She not only saved her life, but quite a few other people's
lives as well - all because she had the working knowledge on
how the Holy Spirit could supernaturally communicate directly
to her.
These warnings from the Holy Spirit can cover you in all
types of situations - rapes, robberies, abductions, car
accidents, plane accidents, train accidents, etc.
If any of you should ever receive these types of
"belly warnings" from the Holy Spirit - it would be my
extremely strong recommendation that you heed and abide by
them and not continue to go in the direction you are
heading. It is much better to be safe than sorry on all of
this.
Had this weatherman heeded the warnings from the Holy Spirit
and got back into his car and come back home later - he could
have prevented himself from being abducted and robbed of
$600.00.
These warnings can come in on you as you are getting ready
to get on a plane, in a car or on a train. I have also heard
testimonies from some who have miraculously survived plane
crashes that they had those belly warning signals before they
actually got on the plane. Looking back with hindsight, they
all said they wished they had listened to those "belly
warnings" instead of overriding them with natural logic and
reason.
I wonder how many people have gone home too early in the
Lord due to their lack of knowledge on how God can
supernaturally communicate to them through the Holy Spirit.
About 4-5 years ago, I recall one of my friends was up on
vacation in Toronto, Canada. Her and her friend were getting
ready to get on a trolley type train car. Right before they
were getting ready to board the train, she said she got a very
uneasy and queasy feeling about getting on this train. Knowing
that this could be a direct warning from the Holy Spirit, she
chose to listen to it and decided not to board the train.
When they got home about 4-5 hours later, they turned on the
TV and saw that the train they would have gotten on had been
involved in a wreck on the tracks that were up in the air.
Apparently, the train somehow had derailed and had partially
come off of the tracks. It took 3-4 hours to finally rescue all
of the people who were still on board. Several people were
killed in the accident.
Had my friend not listened to the uneasy feeling that the
Holy Spirit was conveying to her, she would have at the least
been stranded on that derailed train for 3-4 hours, not to
mention the possibility of being seriously injured or even
killed.
2. If Caught - Start Praying!
Even though this man missed the initial warnings that God
was trying to give him to avoid this traumatic ordeal, at least
he was smart enough to start praying once he got caught.
He said once he was thrown into the trunk of his car, he
immediately started to pray to God, admitting that he was
totally helpless and asking God to deliver him from this
predicament. I believe the strong sense of peace he felt as he
was climbing out of the trunk of his car was a manifestation
coming direct from the Holy Spirit letting him know that God
had heard his prayer and that God would now handle the
situation and safely deliver him out of it.
I wonder how many Christians either forget or don't think to
try and pray to God if caught in some type of trap or snare.
God can pull anyone out of anything if the person will only
pray it through to God the Father while in the middle of the
dilemma. This story is another dramatic example showing that
God will answer your prayers - no matter how serious or how
hopeless the predicament may be that you have just found
yourself caught in.
The Lord is our deliverer - but only if we pray and
specifically ask for His deliverance.
I wonder what would have happened to this man had he not
prayed to God while in the trunk of his car. The above
testimony is just another powerful example showing how active
God can really get for those who are open to receiving it and
are willing to seek after it.
